This week on The Whole View, we’re taking a whole new look at oats (hyuck, see what I did there?), including discussing the nutrients they contain, their health benefits (especially to cardiometabolic disease risk factors), how they positively impact the gut microbiome, their digestibility, and how they might fit into a healthy diet. We also discuss the evolving science explaining why they might not work for some people, including how the prolamin in oats, avenin, differs from gluten. Finally, we share how quality can make all the difference in terms of how oats are tolerated and share what we look for in oat products!
