On this episode of The Whole View, Stacy and I tackle a very emotional, and intense topic. Our longtime listener Dayna wrote a question about struggling with how to reconcile her new cancer diagnosis despite doing everything right in the past with her diet, and clean-lifestyle choices. Stacy and I take stock of all the research that has looked into both holistic and conventional treatments for cancer. I discuss (and myth bust) some of the more common holistic protocols that are often linked with cancer, and Stacy and I both remind Dayna and all listeners, for these complex situations: please work closely with your doctors and functional health practitioners to ensure you are making the best plan for you!
The biggest takeaway from this episode is that conventional medicine exists for a powerful and valid reason. It is informed by science, studies, history, and is always expanding with new discoveries. Oncology especially, is always inviting new and scientifically-proven treatments to help improve cancer outcomes for patients. It is so important to employ all resources, both conventional and holistic (provided they do no harm!), when venturing into a challenging health journey. Conventional medicine and holistic approaches are not mutually exclusive!
